10 Week Mentoring Program
Work Ethic Emphasis

Youth/ Adult will get 10 weeks of choosing values, work ethic training, along with minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service in the plant nursery and evaluations to improve work ethic.  To put into action what they have learned and chosen, youth/adult will have the opportunity to go out with a mentor and operate one of our plant gifting fundraisers. A stipend will accompany their efforts at the plant gifting.  Once completed job opportunities can be open, full time and part time on trial basis with a stipend under 21 years. Rides can be provided upon pre approval and snacks and drinks are included in Work Ethic Program

Student must complete values program in 12 weeks.
Go to orientation and agree with program requirements to participate.

Values are uncompromisable, undebatable truths that drive and direct behavior. They are motivational - they give us reasons why we do things and they are restrictive - they place boundaries around behavior.

Character Values - Module 1

Module 1 establishes the foundational attributes needed for individuals to take responsibility for themselves. This is the concept of rights versus responsibility. This module will structure individuals from the inside out.

  11. Ways to Make Yourself Indispensable at Work

    *Follow directions, and follow through.
    *Admit your mistakes and learn from your mistakes.
    *Make sure you understand directions, write it down.
    *Avoid using personal phones, no texting or talking while on the clock. Stay out of the bathroom.
    *Dress the part.
    *Avoid wasting company time on the Internet. (Social Media)
    *Use good hygiene and grooming habits.
    *Do not waste time on idle chat, or personal jokes. Just don’t waste time.
    *Don’t gossip or spread rumors. Don’t bad-mouth the boss, customers, and coworkers.
    *Be friendly and sincere. Get along with coworkers and your boss.
    *Have a kind work for everyone.
    *Keep confidences.
    *Give a good day’s work. Produce error-free work.
    *Keep your personal business out of the office.
    *Know your company’s products and services and provide excellent customer service.
    *Never discuss salary with coworkers.
    *Be flexible. Show enthusiasm.
    *Learn about your boss.
    *Take on extra responsibility cheerfully.

    *Be a leader, not a follower.
